Bexley Conservative Council Deliver CCTV for Bexley Village

Tuesday, 3 January, 2012

In response to requests from traders and residents to have CCTV in
Bexley village, Bexley Conservatives made an election promise to
install a scheme this year.  The three advanced digital cameras were
commissioned in November having been strategically located to cover
the busy parts of the village.

On 28th December the new cameras, which are linked to the Siemens
control room were in action following  an armed Robbery in Bexley
Village.  The suspects were captured on the newly installed CCTV and
we believe an arrest has been made.  The cameras are of the very
latest design and provide excellent facial recognition.

Commenting on the cameras Cllr Colin Campbell said " These new cameras
are welcomed by local traders and will hopefully help to deter crime
as well as providing reassurance to people who use the village."
