In 2014, Bexley residents elected Conservative Councillors to represent 70% of the seats in the Borough. This was the third election success in a row, and we have been busy since implementing our election manifesto. We are also dealing with the financial situation the Council faces, as the Government continues to sort of the deficit left by Labour. Our Budget strategy has been set out, line by line, penny by penny, for every resident to see.
This website will keep you updated on our work, and we have made the Council more transparent than ever - for example, you can now watch key Council meetings online.
We are currently implementing the 2015/16 Budget that was agreed in March. At that meeting, while your Conservative Councillors set out the budget details, neither Labour or UKIP Councillors put forward any ideas of their own; indeed one Labour Councillor told the meeting that Labour Councillors found coming up with even one idea was "very difficult." As a member of the public said afterwards, if the job's too difficult, what are they doing here?
