We’re standing to be elected as your local Conservative councillors for West Heath
ward – to keep our community green, clean and safe.
Thomas Clapperton works in finance and moved to Bexley with his young family for the
excellent schools, parks and sense of community.
Cllr Melvin Seymour is the Deputy Leader of Bexley Council. He has lived in Bexley for
nearly 40 years. His wife was born in Bexley and worked for many years for the NHS.
Eliot Smith was born and raised in Bexley and lives here in West Heath ward.
Committed to public service, he is an Army Reservist and also serves as a school
governor.
If you elect us as your local councillors, we’ll work to:
Use the council’s brand-new mobile CCTV system to tackle crimes you told us you’re
most concerned about, like drug dealing from cars and car theft.
Prioritise West Heath for road resurfacing. Since 2022, we’ve partially or fully
resurfaced 11 roads in the area, and we’ve already secured funding for Little Heath
Road and Brixham Road, which will be done next.
Crack down on speeding with traffic calming measures, including temporary speed
cameras and displays at known hot spots.
Eliminate fly tipping. We’ve already put up more signs, including in the Pantiles, and
all shopping parades in the ward are now inspected daily by the council.
Neighbourhood policing. Policing is the responsibility of the Mayor, but we will attend
local police meetings to ensure West Heath keeps its ring-fenced officers and that
your priorities are their focus.
